GeneMetrics uses the DRAGEN v4.0 PGx pipeline as the star-allele and targeted caller for the Amen PGx assay. The relevant capabilities are described in the Illumina DRAGEN v4.0 product update.
Every interpretation is anchored to the latest guideline release, then classified by evidence type. Clinical PGx reports follow PharmGKB standards; non-PGx lifestyle recommendations come from the GeneMetrics science and research team's review of peer-reviewed literature. Report language can be customized to match Amen's clinical voice and preferences.
Interpretations follow the latest PharmGKB clinical annotation guidelines and recommendations, which integrate CPIC, DPWG, FDA, EMA, Swissmedic and other major regulatory sources. Each guideline is pinned by version, so historical reports remain reproducible and updates flow through a versioned rules file before they reach any report surface.
Only the clinical PGx report is built to the PharmGKB standard and mirrors guideline language from CPIC, DPWG, FDA, EMA and Swissmedic. Beyond clinical PGx, what we call functional nutrigenomics and wellness reporting is generated by the GeneMetrics science and research team's research and analysis of peer-reviewed studies, not by the PharmGKB guideline set.
Report language can be fully customized for Amen Clinics based on what Amen Clinics would like to recommend. Any claim, category, or recommendation can be suppressed, rewritten, or replaced with Amen Clinics' preferred patient-facing copy. This applies across clinical PGx, functional nutrigenomics, and wellness sections, so the final output reflects Amen Clinics' clinical voice and risk preferences.
Every report is generated from the same underlying marker_calls dataset, the difference is which surface it lands on and how it's narrated.

Pricing estimates are based on a sample generated report. True cost per unit is subject to the official build out during onboarding. All prices below are ranges, not quotes. Final per-unit cost depends on the exact gene list, assay configuration, reporting depth, and volume commitment agreed during onboarding. The numbers shown are representative volume-tier starting points for the commercial conversation. Standard turnaround for all three tiers is 2 to 3 weeks from sample accessioning at the lab. Kit-order and in-transit time are tracked in the Amen Clinics dashboard but do not count against TAT SLA.
One authenticated POST endpoint dispatched by an action slug, the same Platform API that powers LifeMetrics today. 155 actions, 41 webhook events, 20 categories, all discoverable at runtime through the api.* family.
Every call is a POST to a single URL. The action is selected by theaction field in the JSON body (or ?action= query param). Uniform for SDKs, the lifemetrics CLI, and agents.

}PGx call rows come from the marker_calls table populated by pgx-import. Gene, diplotype, phenotype, drug, and recommendation cells are AES-256 encrypted at rest; the response decrypts inside the edge function. Raw VCF or vendor JSON is retrievable via download_genetics_raw_file when the tenant contract permits.
Every commitment below is either already implemented in the LifeMetrics platform, independently attested through the GeneMetrics Trust Center, codified in the standard GeneMetrics Terms and Conditions, or will be locked into the Amen MSA.
Third-party validated HIPAA program covering privacy, security, and integrity safeguards for PHI (trust.genemetrics.com). Standard HIPAA BAA is offered as part of the Amen MSA, with GeneMetrics acting as Business Associate. Access is RBAC + row-level security enforced in the LifeMetrics Supabase policies, with least-privilege administrative access logged through the cloud provider.
SOC 2 Type I and SOC 2 Type II attested over a defined review period, plus GDPR compliance audited by an independent assessor. Audit reports, security policies, and compliance documentation are released through the GeneMetrics Drata Trust Center under NDA.
AES-256 for sensitive health data at rest (including marker_calls encrypted columns in LifeMetrics) and TLS 1.3 in transit. HIPAA-ready cloud data centers with automated daily backups, redundant copies in the primary region, continuous cloud monitoring, DDoS mitigation, intrusion detection, and isolated environments.
Under Section 8.2 of the GeneMetrics Terms, Client owns all right, title, and interest in Client Data. Amen can request access to, export, or delete the clinical record at any time, subject to legal and contractual requirements. Deletion cascades through marker_calls, sources, and reports via foreign keys in the LifeMetrics schema.
Raw call files are retained for the minimum window required by CLIA record-keeping; the exact retention schedule for specimens and digital artifacts will be finalized in Exhibit A during onboarding.
Section 2.6 of the GeneMetrics Terms defines Aggregated Data as de-identified, anonymized information derived from platform use. GeneMetrics never sells personal health information (trust.genemetrics.com). Any secondary use is limited to Aggregated Data compiled in compliance with applicable law; identifiable Client Data is not repurposed. Amen can further restrict aggregated-data use in the MSA if desired.
Core subprocessors: Supabase (Postgres, auth, row-level security, storage), Illumina DRAGEN v4.0 pipelines running in the sequencing environment, and standard HIPAA-ready cloud infrastructure providers. The current subprocessor list, along with any changes, is published through the GeneMetrics Drata Trust Center and included as an exhibit to the BAA.
Amen-authored report copy, protocols, interpretation logic, and clinical voice qualify as Amen Confidential Information under Section 7 of the GeneMetrics Terms and cannot be reused with any other client. The publicity restriction in the same section also prevents GeneMetrics from disclosing the Amen relationship, marketing off it, or repurposing Amen-branded assets without prior written consent. Confidentiality obligations run for five years, with trade-secret material protected for as long as it remains a trade secret.
Right-to-access, right-to-amend, and right-to-delete flows are plumbed through the LifeMetrics profile-settings surfaces. These are HIPAA-aligned patient rights, supported subject to legal and contractual constraints, consistent with the privacy practices summarized in the GeneMetrics Trust Center.
The onboarding sequence would run about six to eight weeks.
Execute the MSA, BAA, and any lab service agreement needed so the pilot has a clear data, billing, and compliance framework.
Configure the PGx Core, Nutrigenomics, and Combined Brain Health report templates, map Amen report language preferences, and validate the combined output against the gene list.
Release the white-labeled reports into the Amen workflow, train the clinical team, and begin accessioning live samples.
